Lionel Messi is widely considered one of the greatest soccer players of all time, but off the pitch, he’s also a devoted husband and father. Born June 24, 1987, the Argentinian star has been with his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, since 2008 after reconnecting in their hometown of Rosario. The couple married in 2017 and share three sons — Thiago (born 2012), Mateo (born 2015), and Ciro (born 2018).
Over the years, Messi and his family have become fan favorites in their own right. The boys often join him for major milestones, whether celebrating Argentina’s historic 2022 World Cup win or cheering him on from the sidelines during his Inter Miami matches. In 2025, the family has continued making headlines — from attending youth soccer events to supporting Messi throughout Inter Miami’s run toward another MLS title. Ciro even went viral recently after scoring an impressive free-kick during an Inter Miami youth match, showing the soccer genes clearly run deep.

Lionel Messi is one of the best soccer players of all time, so it’s amazing to learn that he’s also a dedicated husband and father off the field. The Argentinian talent, born June 24, 1987, met his wife Antonella Roccuzzo in 2008 in their hometown of Rosario. They have three sons, Thiago (born 2012), Mateo (born 2015) and Ciro (born 2018), and wed in 2017.
The Messi family is always adorable when they’re out together. In 2021, they dressed to the nines for the Ballon d’Or ceremony held at Theatre Du Chatelet on November 29 in Paris, France. The boys all donned sequined back jackets with bow ties and white sneakers, while mom was pure glamour in gold.
