Mikaela Shiffrin has become one of the most recognizable faces in winter sports. From standing atop Olympic podiums to celebrating historic World Cup victories, the American alpine skier has built a career defined by speed, precision and record-breaking performances.
Shiffrin first captured global attention when she won gold in slalom at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, becoming the youngest Olympic slalom champion at the time. She went on to add another gold and a silver in 2018, and most recently claimed gold again at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano.
Beyond the Olympic stage, Shiffrin has shattered World Cup records, surpassing legends to become the winningest skier in World Cup history. Off the slopes, she’s known for her candid discussions about mental resilience, her close-knit family ties and her engagement to fellow alpine skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde.
