Prince Harry and Prince William’s royal relationship isn’t exactly rosy nowadays. Let’s look at the brothers through the years.
Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship has been in the spotlight since birth. Over the years, many have compared the future-King and his little brother, but it wasn’t until the release of Harry’s 2023 book Spare that people got a real account of the sibling rivalry.
Prince William was born June 21, 1982, and as King Charles and Princess Diana’s firstborn, his claim to the throne was inevitable. Prince Harry, born September 15, 1984, didn’t have to deal with the pressure of eventually inheriting the monarchy, but instead, found himself living in the shadows of his older brother. Both went on to serve in the military, but when each man married, their lives took different courses. Of course, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been committed to the crown, as the heirs apparent. When Harry married Meghan Markle, he felt even more alienated by the Palace, and eventually, that tension lead the couple to leave their royal duties and move to America in 2020.
In May 2025, Harry made a rare comment about his family during a BBC interview, noting that he wanted “reconciliation” with them, especially with his father, Charles.

The Royals After the Queen’s Death

Harry claims that he missed the chance to say goodbye to his grandma after the other royals jetted to Scotland without him, as reported by HollywoodLife. Talking to 60 Minutes in Jan. 2023, he remembered, “I asked my brother, I said, ‘What are your plans? How are you and Kate getting up there?’”
Harry and Meghan were in London at the time for an event. “…Then a couple of hours later, all the family members that live within the Windsor and Ascot area were jumping on a plane together. A plane with 12, 14, maybe 16 seats,” he said, adding he “was not invited.”
