Derek Hough has become one of the most recognizable dancers and choreographers on television thanks to his longtime success on Dancing with the Stars. Born in Salt Lake City in 1985, Hough joined the hit competition series as a pro dancer in 2007 and quickly became a fan favorite, eventually winning a record-breaking six Mirrorball Trophies. Over the years, he expanded his career beyond the ballroom by serving as a judge on Dancing With the Stars, touring nationally and appearing in projects including Footloose and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. In 2025, he also became the new host of Extra.
Along the way, Hough found love with fellow dancer Hayley Erbert, whom he met through the dance world before marrying in 2023. The couple continued performing together following Erbert’s emergency brain surgery in late 2023, and in December 2025, they welcomed their first child, daughter Everley Capri Hough.
